ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS
Quality ingredients provide for our pet’s healthy well being by helping the pet’s body holistically heal itself through healthy nutrition.

AAFCO NUTRIENT PROFILES (Association of American Feed Control Officials)
Their Profile and Protocol testing is the recognized industry authority on dog and cat nutrition for the purposes of substantiation of nutritional adequacy in commercial pet foods. All Flint River Ranch pet diets are formulated to EXCEED their requirements for nutrition.

SOURCE OF GRAINS

Grains are purchased from major commercial suppliers like General Mills, tested and re-tested by the finest labs. This testing insures the very best quality and reduces the possibility of toxic molds. Grain is cheaper when purchased direct from the farm; however, the risk of toxic mold is greater.

WHEAT GRAIN

Whole wheat and selected parts of the wheat berry are used as our base grain. The whole grain is ground into two sizes. A fine ground whole-wheat flour as a binder and a course ground whole-wheat flour for texture. Wheat grains are not only more digestible than corn; it is one of the most nutritionally balanced cereal grains. It is an easy-to-digest source of carbohydrates, fiber and energy. A combination of grains, like a combination of meat, is better than just one source.

RICE

Combinations of Brown and White Rice. The white rice for digestibility and the brown for its added nutritional value. A diet that is 100% Brown Rice can be somewhat hard for some animals to digest.

CORN

Corn is an excellent grain, however, it is more difficult to digest either by humans or dogs. Therefore, corn is not an ingredient in our dog food. The feline digestive system better utilizes corn and supplies important diet benefits to cats and kittens. Therefore, corn is included in the feline formula.

FLAX

The different proteins in flax provide a high proportion base of unsaturated essential fatty acids and dietary fiber. Flax is recognized for it’s potential in reducing the risk of some chronic diseases; it helps improve thickness and sheen of hair coat; it provides a great benefit to oven-baked food as it resists oxidation from the baking process and improves product shelf life.

MEAT

Chicken meat is our base meat source, with the addition of lamb and a small amount of fish. There are no rendered by-products, intestines, heads, feet or feathers in our formulas. The amino acids provided by the meats are the basic building blocks of muscle, skin, coat, bone, blood and the immune system.

WHOLE CHICKEN

We don’t use whole chicken like some other manufacturers. Whole chicken is not like you buy in the grocery store. Whole chicken label for pet food is the whole chicken including intestines, heads, feet, bones, feathers and everything but the cackle. No Thanks!

ORGANIC CHICKEN

It is possible to put one organic chicken in 50 tons of food and legally say we use organic, range fed chicken. Some manufacturers take this option. We don’t. With all of our ingredients, we pay a premium price for the very best available. Human quality, just like you would feed your family. We purchase our chickens from 2 sources in California and Utah. They are certified to be hormone free. We do not purchase chicken from rendering plants. The meat is cooked in the California plant and ground into a meal for mixing. We use a special mixing process – different from the general industry – important and utilized for the baking process. This special baking process requires the small meal for uniform mixing and to make the “biscuit” that is baked. The total process is what makes the food so great and easily digested into the dog’s system.

LAMB

Lamb is range fed

FISH

Fish is generally a combination of ocean white fish (herring, trout, menhaden). There is no tuna or shark.

MEAL

Meal means reduced in size. Our Meal is meat (never by-products) that are cooked, most water removed and reduced in size (ground) in order for a more uniform mix of the meat, grains, vitamins and minerals.

VITAMINS AND MINERALS

Our minerals are chelated: bonded with amino acids (protein); highly effective in providing metabolic absorption. Our products are preserved with a combination of mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E) and Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). No harmful chemicals are used.

MOTHS – WORMS – INSECTS

The heat in the manufacturing destroys any potential insect eggs that might be left after the cooking process. Food that is not properly stored, or when the bag is left open will attract all types of ants and flying bugs that lay eggs in the rich food. In an extremely short time, these eggs will hatch. This is more frequent in natural oven-baked foods. Pet owners with a worm or moth problem should consider changing their method of storage. Food must be stored in a dry, cool place and sealed. Do Not store in air tight containers as they will sweat and create moisture which can cause mildew spoilage. Pet foods need some air circulation, and properly stored, can have a shelf life of up to 11 months, however, after 5 – 6 months, the product value begins to decline quickly.

MILDEW

Natural oven-baked foods attract moisture which can turn into mildew spoilage quickly in summer weather and areas of high humidity. Store pet food in a dry, cool place.

PRESERVATIVES

Our products are preserved with a combination of mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E) and Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). No harmful chemicals are used.
