Network marketing has been shrouded in mystery and cloaked in misunderstanding. Ask 100 people about network marketing and you will receive 100 different answers.

Network marketing is a relationship business. It is the direct marketing of a product or service by person to person contact. It is an incredible innovative business structure – one of the most fascinating and profitable forms of any business enterprise utilizing the “word of mouth” referral system.

Companies such as IBM, Citigroup and MCI confidently sell their services through a network marketing sales force. “This powerful business strategy has become a linch-pin of the 21st century economy” says Richard Poe, who has studied the network marketing industry and has written several books on the topic.

Network marketing affords anyone with enough desire and perseverance to achieve whatever level of income one wants to achieve. This is accomplished through residual income. Residual income affords you the opportunity to have time freedom and money freedom.

Residual income is where you do one thing one time and get paid over and over for it. A good example of this is if you sell insurance. You sell one policy, and every time your client makes a premium payment, you get paid a commission. This creates time freedom and money freedom and it is available to anyone who wants it.

Linear income is income where you trade time for dollars. This most commonly takes place in a job. Most of us are raised to have a job and to make our dreams fit our paychecks. This has become the “recipe” of life.
For those of us who find that the “recipe” no longer works, we begin our search for alternatives. Network marketing provides an answer for many of us who are looking to change our “recipe” for life.

Surround yourself with people who want what you want, and walk away from those who try to discourage you. Don’t be afraid to say, “and end up safely at my grave? No Way! So long! See ya! Wouldn’t want to be ya!”

Work with your sponsor or someone up line if your sponsor is not available. They want to see you living in your dream, not someone else’s. They understand that this is a people business and the best way to succeed is to work with people who are committed to their business, and to assist them in achieving their dreams.
